To begin with

What it's about.

Recipes are little treasures. Grandmother's family recipe, the find from your favourite blog, the variation that finally worked after three attempts — over the years these treasures scatter across bookmarks, screenshots, scraps of paper and printed pages. When you need them, they are never at hand.

RecipesManagerPro is the answer: an application made solely for managing recipes, on your own Mac, iPad or iPhone. Your data lives on the device and in your own iCloud — no third-party cloud services, no sign-up, no data collection, no advertising.

Note in the margin

Three implementations, one per platform — Mac, iPad and iPhone each built natively. No compromises through cross-platform frameworks.

This page is a brief introduction. The full user manual and frequently asked questions can be found on the product page at klausmack-software.com ↗.

First chapter

Collect & organise.

Bring recipes in without retyping them — and organise them so you find them again.

Import
Card No. 01

Recipes straight from the web

Copy the address of a recipe — RecipesManagerPro automatically detects structured recipes (Schema.org) and imports the image, title, difficulty, prep and cooking time, servings, ingredients and instructions. For unstructured recipes you assign passages to the matching fields by marking them. Import from PDF and text files as well as a built-in browser for recipe searches are on board too.

Safari
Card No. 02

One click in the browser

The bundled Safari extension notices while you browse whether a page holds a recipe and shows it on the icon in the toolbar. One click and the recipe is in your collection — no detour through the app, no copying of addresses. If the recipe is already there, the extension tells you beforehand. Which cookbook the recipes go to and which tag they get is set in the app. For Mac, iPad and iPhone.

Four groups for order

Your own tag system or the preconfigured structure: Course (starter, main, dessert), Dish type (soup, salad, pasta & more), Preparation (baked, grilled, raw) and an individual group (vegan, quick, party). Plus seven sort options — from A–Z and "recently changed" to the best rating in the five-star system.

Example
Recipe No. 047 · Main course · ★★★★☆

Risotto ai Funghi

300 g Arborio rice 250 g porcini, fresh 1 l vegetable stock, hot 1 pc onion, finely diced 100 ml white wine, dry 50 g Parmesan, grated
Second chapter

In the kitchen.

When your hands are floury and the screen must not switch off.

Cooking
Card No. 04

Cooking mode

A clear step-by-step guide walks you through the recipe. Built-in timers — several in parallel for complex dishes — alert you with sound and vibration. The screen stays on while you cook.

Shopping
Card No. 05

Shopping list

Grouped by store (Lidl, Aldi, Tesco …) and product category (fruit & veg, bakery, dairy …) — for efficient shopping without unnecessary detours. If you don't need it, hide it.

Note in the margin

"The screen stays on" sounds like a trifle — but it's exactly what annoys you most while cooking when it's missing.

A note on philosophy: the purchase is a one-time thing. Updates are delivered for as long as the software is maintained; no subscription arises from it. We consider this the most honest form of software distribution.
